Benchmark Deficit Spending

The budget deficit for fiscal year 2009 passed the $1 trillion mark last month. Can you even imagine what $1 trillion means? I can't. But that's how much the fed gov has overspent so far, this year. (Recall that the projected total deficit for FY 2009 is around $1.8 trillion--WAY more than twice the largest annual deficit on record, which is $454.8 billion in FY 2008, according to the article.)
