Who was right? Charles Burris posted a link to this entertaining comic on LRC blog.
I would say that it's really a mixture of both. First they try to put us in a coma with all the dumb reality TV shows, celebrity gossip, and other distractions. But for those of us who don't fall for it, there's always the Orwellian police state--the midnight knocks on the door and the bag over the head.
